The best things in life really are free.
To prove that statement, the good folks here at Autodesk have decided to make Autodesk Design Review product a free download beginning February 1, 2007.
Design Review (or ADR as us "in-the-know" call it) used to cost $199 per seat, so that's a pretty durn good deal if you ask me. "For free, take. For buy, weigh shekels" is a motto I can never forget, because the first guy I ever worked with in the building business, an architect named Phil Shoop, used to say it all the time. I think it means: if something is free, go ahead and get it, but if you have to pay for it, determine whether it is worth the shekels. Or something like that.
So in this case, ADR is zero shekels, which means you should take it. Go ahead, really. www.autodesk.com/dwf should have all the details for you.
Jennifer Toton on the Design Review marketing team says:
This is a way for CPM customers to get their extended team on board. Constructware users can start to kick the tires and Buzzsaw users can get those folks who don’t need to centralize their data in Buzzsaw on board with the design review functionality.
