Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Awards 07

Autodesk is apparently sponsoring the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Awards for 2007, which hands out 15 minutes of fame for a bunch of innovators.

The videos are really great! I especially like the multi-touch screen and the Amory Lovins ones. Oh, and the helicopter blade. And the mini-wind generator. OK, actually they're all worth watching.

Enjoy! This is inspirational stuff.

Why should I plan on attending the Autodesk User Conference?

Nicholas Johnson's Education Group offers more feedback from our recent Users Conference in Chicago:

Today another in a series of emails came across my desk from one of the attendees of our recent User Conference in Chicago.  I was kindly copied on this reply to another of the attendees.  So here was a client in Indiana sharing a creative tip with another client in California.

"Our Professional Services team has long said that they learn something from every client implementation.  They are experts in our industry and experts on our solutions, but no one can know everything right?  And the folks that do the same things you do everyday make up quite a collection of experiences."

This morning’s message is just one of many that I have already seen since we departed Chicago last month.  I’m encouraged to continuously see this type of sharing.  It makes grateful that I’m able to work in a community of folks that enjoy helping others.

Please make plans to attend next year’s conference.  Also contact your Autodesk Account Executive and ask about our Customer Advisory Board meetings as well.

Roundtable Series

Autodesk is about to launch a three part Rountable Series where panelists will discuss how they see Collaborative Project Management making an impact on the three phases of the building lifecycle (Plan, Build, Operate).  This webcast will utilize an interesting format combining video of the panelists and product demonstrations.  I think it will offer a more engaging experience compared to a traditional webcast.  The first Roundtable will be on January 23rd and the panelists include Autodesk Vice President Amar Hanspal, Autodesk Product Manager Joan Allen, and Leo Lauer of Friedmutter.  I am looking forward to hearing Amar address the subject of Autodesk's acquisition of Constructware and how it fits into Autodesk's overall vision for Collaborative Product Management.

You can register for this webcast, and the following two parts at:
