SaaS Model Gaining Ground

I thought I would share this article that I found on CIO India which talks about how the SaaS model is continuing to gain momentum.  While Jonathon Bush's comment "Software is dead.  Dead, dead, dead, dead" might be a bit early, it's a great example of the change in thinking in the industry.

With the new advances in technologies like Adobe's Apollo which is a cross-OS runtime environment it is becoming easier and easier for companies to bridge the gap between local machines and content on the web.  It's no doubt we are going to see great improvements in user interfaces in web environments and reasons that people tend to like traditional boxed software will disappear.
